showtime sign tutorial
1. First select the
Freehand Selection Tool
and make sure the selection type is point to point.
2. Now outline the area that you want to color. It should look like this:
3. Go to layers>>duplicate in order to duplicate the layer.
4. Now go to selections>>invert to reverse the selection.
5. Press delete on your keyboard to delect the extra in the picture. Your layers palette should look like this:
6. Now open up a vector. I am going to use this one:
7. Select the background layer on your layers palette and then select the pick tool.
8. Copy your sun vector and paste it on the background layer by pressing CTRL+E on your keyboard. Move the sunvector to where you want.
9. Once the vector is in the right spot go over to your layers palette and right click on the
floating selection
and select Promote selection to layer.
10. Now select the top layer on your layers palette, then select the magic wand on the side bar.
11. Make sure you have these settings
12. click on an area outside the sitemodel and then for to selections>>invert.
13. Now go to layers>>new raster layer.
14. Drag that layer underneath the site model layer in the layers palette.
15. Next go to selections>>modify>>expand.
16. Change the setting to expand by 2.
17. Now take this pattern:
and fill the selection on that layer it should look like this:
18. Go to layers>>new raster layer and drag it underneath the one you just made.
19. Once again go to selections>>modify>>expand and set the number of pixels to 24.
20. Fill the layer with a gradient so it looks like this:
21. While you still have the selection fill the layer with brushes how you want. Mine looks like this:
22. Now for the last time create a new raster layer and move it under the one you just made.
23. Go to selections>>modify>>expand and set the number of pixels to 2.
24. Fill this layer will this pattern again:
25. Now go to effects>>3D effects>>drop shadow.
26. Make these settings:
27. Go to layers>>merge>>merge all and you are all done =]
